Continuous winding method if desired.  Wind Shuttle with about 4 yards of thread... depending on your tension, adjust shuttle amount for your next bookmark.

First ring......

R 5-5-5-5 Cl RW
  Ch 5-5 RW
  R 5 j (join to first picot of ring) 5 Cl RW
  Ch 5 - 5 RW
  R 5 j (same picot as last ring) 5 Cl RW
  Ch 5 - 5 join end of chain in center picot of ring SLT
  Ch 5 down Join to picot of previous chain 5. Ch 5 RW*
  The chains need to face the same direction.....

Tie and cut about 4 inches long.  Add 3 or 4 more strands put through the base of first ring and tie an over hand knot close to ring to  from a tassel.
