Split ring bookmark
This is a simple and quick project.
Wind two shuttles with about 4 yards of thread. Or use shuttles that have
thread on them from other projects.
Leaving a 5 - 6 inch tail tie the two together. The tail is for beads/charms
later.
Tat split rings. Size of ring will depend on size of thread you use.
30 to 50 weight I do 15/15 the close ring.
12-16 weight 10/10
5 -8 weight 5/5
There is no set rule... just a nice size ring.
Leave no space and tat rings until you have about about 9 inches for a paper
back and 11 inches for a hardback book... Tie off leaving 5 -6 inches.
Cut. Add beads or charms tie off and glue knot. Do this to both ends.
The beads and charms are on the ends and do not damage the pages. You
can clip threads about 2-3 inches and fringe with a blunt needle.
Makes a quick and easy gift. Great for using bits of thread and beads. |
